• Date of birth -- to verify you are 21 or older, as required by federal and state law for tobacco purchases
• Order history -- what you have purchased and when, so we can fulfill orders and point you toward cigars you might enjoy

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies to keep things running smoothly:

• Age verification (pioneer-age-verified) -- remembers that you confirmed your age so you are not asked every visit
• Cart contents -- keeps track of what is in your shopping cart during your session

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies beyond Google Analytics.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see how visitors interact with the site -- pages visited, time on page, general traffic sources. All of it is anonymized. GA4 does not collect your name, email, or anything personally identifiable.

This data helps us figure out what is working and what is not, so we can make the shopping experience better for everyone.

Email marketing

If you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in to marketing emails, we use Klaviyo to send you updates on new arrivals, promotions, and cigar knowledge. Your email address and purchase history may be shared with Klaviyo for this purpose only.

You are always in control. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We will never add you to the list without your explicit consent.

Third-party service providers

We work with a small number of trusted partners to run the business. Each one only receives the information they need to do their specific job:

• PayPal -- handles payment processing under their own privacy policy
• UPS and USPS -- receive your name and address to deliver your order
• Klaviyo -- email marketing platform, receives your email and purchase history only if you have opted in
• Google Analytics -- anonymized site usage data as described above

We do not sell your data

Plain and simple: we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Your information is used to serve you. That is it.

Your rights

You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to delete it. Email us at info@pioneercigars.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are on our marketing email list, you can unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of any email.

Children and minors

Pioneer Cigars sells tobacco products exclusively to adults 21 and older. Our site is not intended for anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover we have collected data from someone under 21, we will delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. We encourage you to check back from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
