The Story
The Brick House brand was created in 1937 by Julius Caesar Newman, founder of the J.C. Newman Cigar Company — America's oldest family-owned premium cigar maker. He named the cigars to honor his family home in the Hungarian countryside, a brick house that housed the Newman residence on the top floor and a tavern on the bottom. Originally crafted as a true Cuban puro with the finest Havana tobaccos, the brand's popularity declined over the decades. In 2009, third-generation owners Eric and Bobby Newman revived Brick House with rich Nicaraguan tobaccos, hand-rolled at the PENSA factory in Estelí — the second-largest cigar factory in Nicaragua. The revival was an overnight sensation, earning Best Bargain Cigar honors and a Top 25 placement from Cigar Aficionado. Today, Brick House is celebrated as one of the best value propositions in premium cigars, delivering full flavor and solid construction at an accessible price point.
