The Story
Buffalo Trace cigars represent a collaboration between the iconic Buffalo Trace Distillery — home to brands like Eagle Rare, E.H. Taylor, and Weller — and Scandinavian Tobacco Group, parent company of General Cigar. The cigars were specifically blended to complement the classic American spirit. The original Buffalo Trace cigar features a dark, oily Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Brazilian Arapiraca binder, with barrel-aged Piloto Cubano and Nicaraguan long-filler tobaccos. The result delivers notes of cedar, cashews, and leather with hints of vanilla and spice — flavors designed to harmonize with bourbon. The line has expanded with releases like the Buffalo Trace Special F, featuring binder tobaccos aged in spent bourbon barrels, and the Buffalo Trace Distillery Prohibition Collection, a series of five unique blends each paired with a different whisky from the distillery portfolio.
