The Story
Java cigars were conceived in May 2004 at Cigars International's annual CigarFest in Allentown, Pennsylvania, when Jonathan Drew of Drew Estate and Rocky Patel joined forces to create a coffee-infused cigar unlike anything on the market. Released in early 2005, Java became an instant hit. The original Java features a dark, oily maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan long-fillers infused with coffee, cocoa, and a touch of vanilla. The tobacco is grown by Drew Estate and the cigars are handmade at their Estelí, Nicaragua factory, with finished products distributed through Rocky Patel's network. Java is the one and only infused cigar bearing Rocky Patel's name, and it has expanded into a full family of flavors: Java Latte for those who prefer a lighter, creamier profile; Java Maduro for maximum dark roast intensity; Java Mint for a refreshing twist; and Java Red for a richer, spicier experience. Java remains the gold standard of the coffee-infused cigar category.
